The Digital Innovation Hub Silver Economy, DIGITAL INNOVATION HUB SILVER ECONOMY – DIH_SE, promotes the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local public administrations (City and County Councils) related to the Silver Economy environment, according to Oxford Economics: ‘the Silver Economy is the sum of all economic activity that fulfils the needs of people aged 50 and over and includes both the products and services they buy directly and the economic activity they generate.’
DIH_SE is an interconnected network of assets and services with training, research, testing and validation infrastructures available to SMEs in the Silver Economy environment, with the ability to offer concrete knowledge and services to provide the technological capabilities needed to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0. To this end, a public-private collaboration network has been set up, made up of the public administration (Zamora Provincial Council), technology centres (MINSAIT of the INDRA Group and CARTIF), universities (UNIVERSITY OF SALAMANCA and UNIVERSITY OF BURGOS), financial entities (CAJA RURAL), communications entities (ATREVIA COMUNICACIÓN) and key players to promote the region’s economic development. and key agents to promote regional economic development, acting as a link between the SMEs of the Mid-Silver region and the DIHSE (COUNCIL OF OFFICIAL CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY OF CASTILLA Y LEON).
Our interconnected network of assets is made up of infrastructures and services.
Also known as the ‘silver market’, the concept of the ‘silver economy’ was born in the 1970s in Japan. With a very ageing population, this country felt the need to focus efforts on creating services, institutions and products aimed at the older generation. This ‘age-friendly’ development boom led to the emergence of the ‘silver economy’.
Essentially, all industries can and should offer products and services to older generations. However, some of those that benefit most from well-targeted marketing are information technology, telecommunications, the financial sector, accommodation, property, health, transport, energy, tourism and culture.
– The aim is to create an ecosystem associated with the Silver Economy based on the business reality of each territory, with the aim of encouraging companies in the territory to create new product and/or service proposals aimed at the target audience, the over 50s; as well as helping to promote the conditions that facilitate the emergence of new business projects associated with the Silver Economy.
– The aim of this activity is to develop and validate a methodology that contributes to promoting the digitalisation of processes in SMEs associated with the Silver Economy sector, carrying out pilot tests to validate the methodology developed.
– Implement innovative solutions aimed at the Silver Economy target audience, particularly with regard to the goals pursued by the SDGs.
– This action aims to promote training in digital tools and fundraising by companies as a strategy to boost the competitiveness of their organisations and the development of new entrepreneurship projects, products and services associated with the Silver Economy in companies in the cooperation area targeted by the project.
– The aim of this activity is to encourage the participation of partners associated with the coordination and monitoring of the project in a continuous and global manner, establishing daily and fluid communication. The exchange of data and information will be based on a cloud solution that allows the partners to know the status of the project at all times, as well as the timetable for implementation. The coordinator, the Diputación de Zamora (BP), will oversee the active participation of all the partners.
– This action aims to publicise the DIH_SE project as a benchmark and good practice in improving the competitiveness of companies based on sustainable and transformative growth in their economic activity, promote the participation of companies in the programme’s activities, inform the public about the support of the European Union and the Interreg VI A Spain-Portugal programme and publicise the project (objectives, activities and results).
